Jill, I am so sorry to hear about Brownie. I can tell from her pictures that she was very well loved. I know you wouldn’t have traded one day with her, knowing the pain you would feel now. I do believe all dogs go to heaven – they have such pure souls, how could they not?

  • Ellen

Brownie girl may you rest in peace you were a sweet sweet soul!

  • Darcy

I am so sorry for you – and very happy for you that you had a great deal of time with Brownie. The loss of a pet is never easy. Having lost one of my most cherished and beloved babies in 2005, I can say that, although I suffer greatly still, I would never trade this the glory and joy of having shared his short life just to be able to erase this pain. I was blessed, as we all are when we share our lives with our pets.

Consider yourself hugged and cared for. We all understand.

  • sophia

    Jill,
Thank you for sharing, condolences on your loss. I agree, each one of them is truly a gift from God. And she was privileged to have you.

I know what the relationship between a pet and their owner can mean. I had a min. schnauzer that had to be put down before he was 2 due to illness. We now have another min. schnauzer who is 8 years old and a terror, but also lovable. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and yours. God Bless.

  • Erin – Maggie’s Mom

Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos of your little girl. Those of us that know the love and devotion of a puppy are the lucky ones in this world. God bless you and your family in your time of loss.

  • Donna Caputo

So sorry, my heart goes out to you. We will all see our loving pets again someday. I just the few pictures you have up, he looked like such a fun dog to have around. They give us such joy. I have 2 dogs of my own and they are a blessing to me. When the time is right, fill your home with another of Gods creations that needs a good home. Donna

  • Lynda Upton

I am so sorry for your loss.. we can see how precious she was (is still). I’m certain God has a special place for our beloved animals. He placed them on earth to give us such joy, comfort, love and laughter? He loves all Mankind and all animals. I bet she is having a wonderful time up there chasing around and enjoying all her new playmates. Being good and loving animal owners, my guess is that you will most certainly get to see her again. My heartfelt condolences to you and everyone who knew Brownie!

  • Michael

My deepest sympathies over the loss of your friend for life. May happy memories you shared with her always fill your heart with love.

  • Christine Eluskie

    Jill,
I am so sorry for you your loss of Brownie. May it comfort you some to know her health is restored and she is running and playing over the Rainbow Bridge. She will wait for the day that you pick her up and are back together again. God Speed Brownie!

Deepest condolences on the loss of little Brownie. What an adorable little cutie pie, and full of personality no doubt. Jack’s are special dogs meant for special people who understand just how amazing they are. We just found out yesterday that our Lucy dog that we have had for 15 years (she is now 16.5) had lymph node cancer and her days with us are short. She too is a russel but mixed with blue heeler and has been the most incredible animal. Tough as nails and escaped from the mouths of not one, but 2 coyotes! Fearless little dog and I am sure she will fight her disease in the same manner…plus she is not about to relinquish that alpha role to anyone else in the house or her toys! Ordering her favorite witchy toy from you today for her.

    Big hugs to you.

    Julien

    Dear Jill:

Reading about Brownie and looking at the pictures of this sweet little girl I had tears in my eyes. I can’t comprehend life without my little Grace.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Brownie. She was a beauty. We have had two Jack Russells. One lived to be 16 years old. When he passed away we were so despondent. We now have another but we waited a couple of years. Please know your fellow dog owner friends are thinking about you and saying a prayer for you.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I know the ache in your heart you are feeling right now. To be honest, I still think of Auggie Doggie with tears in my eyes. It’s ok they deserve the grieving. Take your time to grieve and know that doggie kisses help the most. May you always have happy memories of Brownie Girl and may the thought of her always bring a smile to your face. Go in peace, Debby

  • Christy Ross

I extend my condolences on the loss of your four-legged friend. Her pictures are precious and make me think she brought you wonderful moments of entertainment and love. I took some time between the loss of my sweet dog and the next one. Sharing that love with another animal helped me. Perhaps you can find another friend in time as well.

    Dear Jill,

I feel with you in this very hard times. My Wuschelino left on June 4ht, 2010 in the age of 15 years an 8 month. I miss him so much. We learned about your store and Brownie, because he loved your toys so much. The schoolbus, birthdaycake, cellphone, and all the other wonderful toys you have.
From the distance let me take you in my arms. I will light a candle tonight especialy for Brownie.

Rest in Peace Brownie, now you are in the rainbowland. Look out for Wuschelino, he will show you around. Play together, and wait untill time comes and we will be together again. And never have to part untill the end of time.

    Jill:

I can barely type these words through flowing tears as I stare at the beautiful photos of Brownie. I dread the day when I too will be faced with the loss of my forever friend, Dallas. I am sure Brownie was always there for you – when you were sad, she could make you smile. When you needed a hug, she was right there. Man’s best friend is an understatement. There are no words to describe the love we receive from our best friend. My sincerest sympathy. My prayers are with you for your deep loss.

  • Judy

I am so sorry to hear about Brownie. She looks very sweet and loving. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things we go through. My thoughts and prayers go to you and all those who loved Brownie.

  • Cecelia

My deepest condolences on the loss of Brownie! As the “mom” of three Golden Retrievers that light up my day every day I cannot imagine life without them, but, like you thank God every day for them as they are such a blessing. She looks sooooo happy and I hope you find comfort in that fact that you made her life special and she did the same for you! God bless you!

  • http://abbeyoflondon.com Julie Hughes

Thank-you for sharing your beautiful scripture. I am sorry for your loss. There is only one bad thing about a dog is that we usually outlive them. They are such amazing wonderful gifts from God. I lost my jack Russell Dudley three years ago in November and I miss him still. I hope he puts a good word in for me so we can play again in heaven!

  • Liz Devlin

I’m so sorry for the loss of Brownie. When one of my dogs died, I found this poem called “Don’t Cry For Me”, its an Indian one. It gave me so much comfort.

  • Karen

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your loss. She’s the cutest thing. I’m glad you were able to enjoy her for so many years. We make them our family members and it’s a very sad loss when they pass. I’ve only had my Brandy for 2 years and I can’t imagine.

    God Bless…

  • Steve and Diana Abbott

    Jill:

We just lost our beloved Sallie four weeks ago, so we are acutely aware of how you feel right now. But based on your tribute to Brownie, it is obvious how much you loved her and how special she is/was. I can recognize that because I did a very similar thing myself. How awesome that you were able to be owned by her for 14 years. It’s never long enough though, as we know all too well.

God bless you during these difficult days. The only good news I can come up with is that this is our second time and it *does* get better with time.

    Sincerely,

    Steve and Diana Abbott

    Dear Jill and Family,

Sympathies on Brownie’s crossing over but know that one day we will all be together again. Our boxer girl (and big Dog Toy fan)left us in February but I still feel her near but now in spirit. Gradually the pain lessens and the good memories come more frequently than the tears.

    hugs,

    Robin & Angel Sugarrae

Sorry to hear about your dog! Its always hard to lose a dog! I recently had to put to sleep my little Lady Adriana! You miss them alot. Again, my condolences.

  • Larry Edwards

Many of us have experienced the loss of a pet and feel a grief (and joy) whice may be hard to understand by those who are unfortunate not to have pets. We’ve had 8 miniature schnauzers in our immediate family since 1972. I am continually amazed each day at the blessings which these creatures bring to us, how they express their love and joy for us. I cannot imagine living without a dog. This week our daughter and family will acquire their second dog having lost theirs of some years in February. They are excited.

While the grief of loss seldom passes, it does become bearable. Live for the memories.

  • donna

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I know the loss of a pet is so great, but consider you were loved unconditionally. Which as people we don’t do that, but our pets love us in good, bad and indifference of ourselves.

  • Rita

The loss of one of our ‘four legged angels’ is a painful thing. Having lost a few along the course of my life, I understand your loss and you have my deepest sympathy.
Remember all the laughs, the joys, and the smiles that she brought you, and know that she will be there to welcome you home when it’s your time to go home. It gives me great comfort to believe that all of my ‘angels’ will be there when I get there!

  • Barbara

I was very sorry to hear about Brownie. Sending you a hug with the hope that all of your precious memories will ease your heart.

The loss of a dear friend, such as your little Lady “Brownie” is so difficult. Our furry and/or feathered friends are family members. My heart aches for you. How wonderful to have had such a Blessing in your life. She is more than likely hanging out with her family that have passed before and ENJOYING every minute. She knew just how much you cared for and about her. Just look at her photos. Such a delight.
Sincere Hugs to you and your family.

I am so sorry you lost sweet Brownie. She looks like such a character! Her little eyes were so expressive. We put more on our dogs than we even realize sometimes. They give us so much just by being around.

  • Pat

Jill, I’m so sorry to hear about Brownie’s passing. Our dogs are like our children, and we lost one of our labs last September at age 13 so I know how you feel. Think of all the wonderful times you had with Brownie, and know that she loved you as much as you loved her!

  • Sheryl M.

I am so sorry that your Brownie has passed on, but I believe in my heart we will be reunited with our fur loved ones again…thank you for the verse as well… Yes our companions are a gift into our lives. I have adopted and fostered many dogs over the years and it is difficult to let each one of them go – they all touch our lives in different ways…Bless you as you remember her in your heart and as time heals the wounds may you remember her more with joy at her time with you, than with sadness at her loss.

  • Patty

No matter what outsiders may think, it truly is like losing a family member. It takes awhile to look back and remember all the good times, but you will. I too believe all dogs go to heaven. If they aren’t there, I don’t want to go there either.

  • Anita

Jill, I am so sorry for your loss. I know you loved little Brownie as much as I loved my little girl Phoebe. I am still grieving her loss as she past away two weeks ago. She was a beautiful Golden Retriever who blessed my life for 13 years. I will always love her as you will Brownie. I know she is in heaven now. Maybe she is playing with Brownie at this moment. Take care.

  • Kathie

Hi Jill, I just got this e-mail.

I am so sorry about your loss of Brownie. A dog as cute as her name. I so know how this feels. I have not been without a dog since age 16. I could never be.

I believe the saying they are Angels in fur. I love the passage you used and so glad to see you are religious as I am. In these days you are almost banned to say the word God. Everything happens for a reason that only God knows why.

Thank you for sharing your loss with your customers. I loved your photo gallery too. May God be close to you more than ever now.

Your little girl will have her beautiful wings now. All Gods creatures are his angels…. especially dogs.. because they were created from him.. after all “God spelled backwords is… Dog” Hold on to your memories and peace be with you.

  • Don

We lost our very special adventure Beagle a couple years ago. See was 15 and 1/2. She sent me two messages through cloud formations (of herslf) that let me know she was fine in heaven. We smile whenever we think about her now. It will get better.

  • Diane

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet little girl. They are such a gift. It’s unfortunate for us that they don’t live longer but I believe that their lives are measured by quality, not longevity… it looks like you gave her the very best.

Such a sweet dog. My condolences.

    Dear Jill,

I am so very sorry to hear of Brownie’s passing. Having lost my Portuguese Water Dog Delilah in November at the young age of 9 1/2 yrs. I know some of what you are going through. They are never with us long enough, but from your pictures Brownie certainly loved her time with you and your family. I am sure that she was loved by all of your. I pray that God will fill the void you feel with his love and peace.

So sad for your loss, I feel your pain in losing Brownie. You know that she is waiting to see you again over that “Rainbow Bridge”. At least that is what my vet told me when my Yorkie passed on. So grieve for her and know that she loved you and is waiting to see you when your time is due.

You’ll be apart just temporarily….but always together in spirit…..

    Rainbow Bridge
    Author Unknown

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
That pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so that they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine
and our friends are warm and comfortable.

    All the animals who have been ill or old are restored to health and vigor;
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
Just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are so happy and content…..
    Except for one small thing:

They each miss someone very special to them,
Who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together,
But the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver.
Suddenly, she begins to run from the group
Flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
You cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face,
Your hand again caresses the beloved head,
And you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
So long gone from your life,
But never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together…..

  • Wendy

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures of your beautiful dog, Brownie. I, too, have a jack who looks quite similar with the same spark in her eyes, so I can imagine the depth of your loss. You have my deepest sympathy. Peace, Brownie!

What a beautiful little dog. I am so sorry for your loss. It is the worst thing in the world to lose a beloved pet. I cry when I think about the future and losing our two dogs.
I hope that your grief slowly eases. Though you will never forget Brownie, perhaps you can take some comfort knowing that he is free from pain and that also, he had 14 fabulous years with you, full of love and great care.

  • Deb Howell

    Creation

When god had made the arth and sky the flowers and the trees,
he then made all the animals the fish, the birds, and the bees and when at last he’d finished not one was quite the same

he said “I’ll walk this world of mine and give each one a name.”
And so He traveled far and wide and everywhere He went, a little creature followed Him until its strengh was spent.
When all were named upon the earth and in the sky and sea,
The little creature said” Dear Lord, there’s no name left for me.”
Kindly the Father told him ” I’ve left you to the end.
I have turned my own name back to front and called you DOG, my friend.

For she may be gone but will never be forgotten.

I would also like to share this inspirational poem with you called Treasured Friend:

    Treasured Friend

I lost a treasured friend today
The little dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And shared her silent thoughts with me.

She’ll come no longer to my call
Retrieve no more her favorite ball
A voice far greater than my own
Has called her to his golden throne.

Although my eyes are filled with tears
I thank Him for the happy years
He let her spend down here with me
And for her love and loyalty.

When it is time for me to go
And join her there, this much I know
I shall not fear the transient dark
For she will greet me with a bark.

  • Julie Johnson

My heart goes out to you. You were blessed to have her for 14 wonderful years just as she was blessed to have you.

So sorry about your loss. I lost my precious Sugar last December and am still heart broken. It is so hard to lose them but they are certainly worth it with the joy they bring into our lives. God bless you and give you that peace that passes all understanding

So sad to hear about Brownie. How lucky you were to have her in your life. All dogs are truly a gift. God spelled backwards is DOG. Amen. They are such a joy.

I am so very sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories you shared together. Brownie is waiting for you in Heaven. What a wonderful day that will be when all the dogs we’ve ever loved come to greet us!

I am so sorry for your loss. Brownie was obviously a very specail girl and very well loved. Many dogs live their whole lives and not have the kind of love that Brownie had.
May God bring you peace knowing that you gave Browie so much love and such a wonderful life.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathy over the loss of your precious Brownie. All dogs …but for some reason Jacks reallly find their way to your heart !!!
My Zoomy has been at my side through my battle with breast cancer.
I will NEVER be able to repay him for that love companionship during a very dark time in my life.
God be with you during this loss of a very special member of your family !!!!

I too am sorry. As one who has had cherished
pets in my life, I do understand. Thank you
for sharing the photos. I love the one of her
in the pool, and the one of her with the
plastic jug made me laugh out loud. She
obviously knew that she was loved, and what
    more could one have asked….

  • Preston Reeves

    Jill,

Sending you warm hugz and deepest sympathy. I know the pain you are enduring, and my heart and prayers go out to you. As is evident by the many responses you’ve received herein, it’s never easy losing these wonderful, loyal, loving creatures that I believe were created by God to make our time here on earth, just a bit easier. Loving our pets makes us vulnerable to pain, but I can assure you from my own experiences that the pain is worth not having had them in our lives at all. Brownie is resting, no doubt dreaming of running through meadows full of flowers, chasing butterflys and never going without a chew toy or a special treat. Know that your pain is shared by others, and that many, many people who, though never actually met Brownie, feel your loss. Always try to remember the GOOD times, the GOOD memories and try, through your tears to smile…I’m sure Brownine will hear you and wag that stub of a tail as if to say…”it’s OK…I’m really STILL with you” :-) As long as you have those feelings in your heart, and good memories, Brownie will never REALLY be gone. God Bless you and yours.

    Respectfully,

Preston Reeves, (and Sadie & Buddy)

I am so sorry to hear of Brownie’s passing. Rest assured she is not gone at all, though you miss the physical body her spirit is very much alive and will be with you always. With such a strong bond of love and trust you shared it is quite likely she will make her appearance again but it is certain you will be reunited for ever whenever that time may be. She is now at the rainbow bridge and will wait till the time is determined to be with you again. She is with many loving spirits and happy and healthy again.

  • Lauren

    Dearest Jill,

Over the Rainbow Bridge your prescious Brownie waits for you. God Bless you and family for the loss of this beautiful little pup. I have a Llahsa Poo named Murphy, whom I too just adore. He’s my buddy, my pal and another silly “little” dog that gives me hours of joy and happiness.
Rest in Peace little Brownie, your job here is done… wait with patience for your masters. They will come to get you so you can play together again.

  • Teresa

I’m so sorry you lost your best girl. What a cutie! God bless you both!

Brownie was such an adorable little dog! I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing the pictures of her. It is obvious she had such a wonderful life with you. I laughed out loud at the one of her rounding the corner with the handle of the plastic milk carton in her mouth. I am sure there is an entertaining story to go with it. Bless you for everything you do. My condolences again to you and your family. RIP, dear Brownie.

  • Jean Barthels

So sorry to hear about your precious dog. I know she knew she was loved and will see you again some day.

    Jill,
I am so sorry to hear about your precious Brownie. I understand the loss you feel and yet the love that you will continue to have for her. I lost my Chico last October and we had talked about it at one point when I placed an order with you. I pray that God will give you peace in your heart as well as the remembrance of the joys that you two shared. I believe that there is a Rainbow Bridge and my Chico waits there to meet me and that Brownie will be there to meet you and we will spend eternity together with our beloved fur kids! God bless you always.

Sharing my life with an aging APBT my heart goes out to you. I treasure everyday with my Nevada as I know time is running out.(She is 11) Reading about Brownie brought tears to my eyes. She was a lucky little girl to have been so loved. God Bless.

  • Jackie

Happy for the years you had with Brownie. You have wonderful memories of a great friendship.

  • http://none Valerie

I too feel your sadness as I had to put my big girl “Mischief” to sleep at the ripe old age of 14yrs. She gave me 14 years of love just like Brownie had given you. Mischief enjoyed the days when the “box man” came and brought her a new toy, a tasty treat or a new sweater from your store. At this moment, Brownie has entered into the beautiful would of the Rainbow Bridge. A special place where our beloved fur children go. There are fields of soft green grass, plenty of sun, food, water and yes, toys. They cross the Bridge and are nenewed to full health, they are young again. Someday when its your turn to leave this world, you will meet again and live in eternity together forever. God Bless little Brownie and a silent prayer will be spoken softly for you, your family and little Brownie tonight.

  • Tom and Judy

I’m so sorry to hear about Brownie. When I have lost my precious little ones I always have asked Jesus to put them in my mansion so they’ll be there waiting for me. I’m sure He’ll put Brownie in yours too.
    We love dogtoys.com. Thanks Brownie.
    Sincerely, Tom and Judy Timoldi

I have a 16 year old rat terrier who has been the joy of my life. She is doing ok, but I know my time with her is limited. It’s just so sad seeing our little sweethearts age.

    Jill,
Our hearts go out to you for your loss. Brownie is over the rainbow bridge now and is waiting for you. Rest in peace knowing that you gave her a wonderful life just as much as she did for you.

  • Michele Baugher

I am so very sorry for your loss. The loss of a pet companion may sometimes be even more devastating than that of a beloved human. I too am grateful that you had 14 wonderful years with Brownie and I know in my heart that dogs go to heaven!!!!

  • Lisa

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure she knew how much she was loved and how much joy you gave to each other.

  • Madeleine Rosemond

What an excellent testimony you shared with us about God’s gift to you of your dog, Brownie. Brownie looks like a composite of several of my dogs. My dogs seem to live about 13-ish years as well, so I know some of what you must be going through. Your faith and thankfulness to God are wonderful to learn about. Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow ~ your statement is a blessing!! May the Lord use it in many lives.

  • Jan

    Jill,

I am so sorry for your loss. Brownie looks like such a happy girl in her pictures, you can tell she knew she was loved and she loved you. I’ll keep you in my prayers, I know what a heart break this is.

  • Jackie

I lost my akita Angelica in March of this year and I know how hard it is. Find comfort in your memories and be grateful for the relationship you and Brownie shared. Right like Angelica I know Brownie was loved very very much!!

  • Jo

I am so sorry. My prayers are with you. I was in tears reading this but also received comfort at the same time. See my baby (dog) is getting old and I’m not sure how I’m going to handle it when his time comes. After reading this, I know God will help me through it!! Thank you for sharing…

  • Janice

RIP, Brownie. I bet my Prissy, Molly and Maggie were there to meet you. Tell them I said hi and that I miss them very much. I am sure you are now running and feeling wonderful again. That is the way I see my girls. Give them a little kiss for me.

  • Jill

So much love…..here’s a promise from God: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9

  • Darlene

I’m so very sorry to hear about Brownie. These wonderful fur babies enter into our lives and leave such a print on our souls and then they are gone from us too quickly. I lost my 14 year old poodle a year ago and it has been a very difficult time but I know in my heart he is over the Rainbow Bridge and he’s happy and healthy once again just as Brownie is. Brownie will always be alive in your heart. God bless.

I make pet scrapbooks. When you’re ready to look through more photos, I would consider it an honor to make a book about Brownie for you.
    Pawsitively yours,

PS I lost my first two years ago. He was the first I had alone and the first to lose. I miss him so much!

    Jill,

Right now there is a lump in my throat and a ache in my hear for you and your Brownie. What a marvelous, lovely, loving dog for you to spend many wonderful years with.

She seemed to be playful, loving, caring, and above all totally human. I’m sure see seem like she was an additional family member. Dogs truly tknow when they belong and they have an incredible
hold on your heart. They know that you loved her
unconditionally just as she did you. I don’t know of any other animal that loves like a dog does, they are just special.

I’ll pray tonight that she will be in heaven waiting for you.

  • William West

I so wish that I could ease your terrible pain as you no longer have your wonderful loving bond to share with her… your best friend and incredible Brownie girl is gone.

After Missy died, I waited 17 years before I went to pick up my new pet, my new love, Moxy Ann. I never had seen her before, but I cried while driving to pick her up and I took her little body and her soaring fearless soul out to her new home in the palm of my hand. It was then that I started loving again.

It’s not how much that you are loved by others that determines your self worth. It’s how much y o u love others that counts. And, if you love a lot…you are worth a lot.

Somewhere, out there, there’s a little girl waiting for you…and when you find her…I really think that you’ll feel so much better.

Don’t wait 17 years with an empty soul as I did. Unless, of course, your love for your kids, family, and friends can fill you up full again.

  • Barbara

I am so sorry for your loss. Pets are gifts from God, and how it hurts to have that precious gift taken from your life. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I do believe that God has a special place for our fur babies and that we will see them again when our time comes. Cherish the sweet memories of Brownie to help you in your time of grief.

  • Jackie

I am sorry for your loss. Brownie was precious! Cherish all the great memories! Always remember…you gave her all the happiness in the world!

  • Joanne

I had just started working for your family shortly after you got her and know in my own life all the milestones that happened in those years. Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved, Brownie. I know first hand the love, joy and happiness that is brought by a Jack Russell. What a wonderful breed, they are!! I lost my 16 year old JRT (Emma) to cancer last November. It was the hardest day of my life and I miss her every minute of every day. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that you gave her the best life possible–and she’ll have many friends at the Rainbow Bridge while she waits patiently for you to be reunited once again.
